The 1st year M. Sc. Nursing students and faculty of Sikkim Manipal college of Nursing conducted a School Health Assessment and Awareness program at PM Shri Govt. Jr. High School, Adampool under  a flagship program of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, on the topic: Peer pressure, Human trafficking and teenage pregnancy, students exhibited a realistic role play on human trafficking and Prof. Champa Sharma Principal SMCON highlighted the on the topic peer pressure and its impact on health and education, Assistant Professor, UBA coordinator SMCON briefed the gathering on teenage pregnancy and its impact on family, community, society at large and also highlighted on roles of students, parents, family, teachers and local self governance authorities in prevention of teenage pregnancy. Sanitary pad was also distributed to the adolescent girls of the school to promote adolescent health hygiene. The program was graced by the  Panchayat president, Vice Panchayat  president of Rawtey- Rumtek GPU, former Zilla panchayat of Ray territorial, School Managing committee president and members followed by school students and teaching and non teaching staffs of the school

The awareness session was followed by the health assessment session where 60 students of the school were given free general health assessment followed by the health assessment of 15 school staffs.

The program came to an end with the felicitation of Headmistress of the school Mrs. Nirupa Rai followed  by the invited dignitaries and a vote of thanks from Panchayat president and he also urged the SMCON fraternity to conduct such programs in the near future in other schools of the locality.
