Young Business Leaders’ Quiz 2025
The Department of Commerce, Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts, Sikkim Manipal University, hosted the Young Business Leaders’ Quiz 2025 on 15th November 2025 at the SMU Auditorium, bringing together seven schools for an engaging inter-school business knowledge competition.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp, symbolising the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. This was followed by a welcome address delivered by Dr Madan Chhetri, Coordinator, FHSS&LA. The gathering was further addressed by Dr Gopalakrishna Prabhu, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, and Dr Muralidhar V. Pai, Dean, SMIMS and Pro-Vice Chancellor, SMU. An overview of the Department of Commerce and its academic initiatives was presented by Dr Aditya Rai, Head of the Department of Commerce.
The competition began with an elimination round, through which the participating teams competed for a place in the final stage of the contest. The shortlisted teams advanced to the Main Quiz Round, featuring an intense two-hour session designed to assess students’ knowledge of:
- Commerce and business concepts
- Economics and financial awareness
- Current business affairs and developments
The quiz was conducted by Dr Bibeth Sharma, Head of the Department of Management Studies, SMIT, who served as the Quiz Master. During the programme, he encouraged students to cultivate curiosity and pursue learning beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
Following a closely contested competition, the results were declared as follows:
- Winner: Tashi Namgyal Academy
- First Runner-Up: Enchey Senior Secondary School
- Second Runner-Up: PM SHRI Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Deorali
- Best Performer Award: Ms Naina Sharma, PM SHRI Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Deorali
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr Sumeet Agarwal, Convenor of the event, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, schools, organising committee, faculty members, and students for their support and contribution towards the successful conduct of the event.
The Young Business Leaders’ Quiz 2025 proved to be a successful and enriching academic initiative, providing a platform for young minds to demonstrate their knowledge, analytical abilities, and competitive spirit while promoting academic excellence and inter-school engagement.
