As per your ENAT score (up to rank 23193) you are eligible for admission in SMIT (An institute run by Manipal Group in Sikkim) Few seats are available in Information Technology/Applied Electronics & Instrumentation branches of B.Tech. in General category. In NRI category, seats are available in all branches. Minimum. 60% marks in PCM in Class XII is required for the candidates seeking admission through NRI Category. We welcome you to Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.
Admission is based on first come serve. You are to be present for admission on or before 14 July 2010 at SMIT, Majitar, Rangpo. If you are unable to present up to 14 July 2010 you may be called for Second counseling.
Your claim for the seat will not be entertained if you do not report on or before the given date for counseling / admission. However, if you report late your merit standing at the time of your reporting will be considered for allotment of seat. Allotment of seat will be based purely on the rank list of ENAT.
Your next steps to joining SMU:
Following documents (Originals and a set of attested copies of the same) to be submitted at the time of admission.

5. Transfer Certificate from school/college leaving certificate issued by school/college.
6. Conduct/Character Certificate on school/college letter head/pad.
7. Migration Certificate from previous University/Board.
8. Sponsoring letter for NRI
9. Four recent and identical passport size photographs.
Fee to be paid:
You have to make the payment for first year either in full or in installment at the time of counseling. Full payment is Rs 205,592/- and First installment is Rs. 1,29,092/-. For NRI category Rs. 75042/ + USD 4500/-Payment is to be made by DD drawn in favour of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology payable at Gangtok.
DECLARATION:
- The number of candidates called for counseling cum admission will be more than the total number of seats available. This is to take care of dropouts at the time of counseling. Mere inclusion in the merit list and call for counseling does not guarantee admission. Admission will exclusively depend on the candidate’s rank, the number of candidates attending for the counseling, their choice of course and the number of seats available. No body can offer you a seat except your own merit.
- Candidate not meeting the eligibility criteria of 50% in PCM for GEN category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC and / or those who have not passed the 12th examination should not proceed for counseling even if counseling letter has been received.
- Under Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme son/daughter of parents, having annual income of less than Rs. 2.50 lakh from all sources shall only be eligible. For income proof, latest Income tax Return/ Income certificate duly approved by District Magistrate to be produced.
- Physical presence of the candidate at the counseling is mandatory. In case of unavoidable circumstances from being physically present for the counseling, he/she may authorize another individual to represent him/her at the counseling. This representative must carry the authorization latter and necessary documents.
How to Reach the Campus:
Nearest airport is Badogra and Railway station NJP. From the airport and railway station, you either can hire a taxi or can travel in shared taxi. All taxi drivers know the campus as Manipal, Majitar. If traveling by a shared taxi, you will be dropped at the main gate of the college, which is on the highway NH-31. SMIT is located about 5 Km away from Rangpo, the entry point to State of Sikkim.
Accommodation for candidates/guardians:
NH-31 connecting Siliguri and Gangtok, face frequent roadblock due to landslides during this period of rainy season. Hence, it is advisable to plan your journey to reach the campus/Gangtok one day before your day of counseling. Limited number of double-seated bath attached hostel rooms are available and will be allotted on first come basis. Availability of accommodation is restricted to three persons including candidate and minimum number of days required for counseling.
