On 12th April 2024, the final Year B.Sc. Nursing students (interns) of Sikkim Manipal College of Nursing (SMCON) has organized a School Health Awareness Programme on the topic “Physical and Mental health of  adolescents” at Government Secondary School, Chanatar Rangpo, Sikkim. The programme started with a welcome address by M.C and  followed by a role play on ‘Bullying and its consequences’. With the help of multiple attractive audio-visual aids,  education and awareness was given  on Nutritional and eating disorders  among adolescents, Reproductive health including Menstrual hygiene and  teenage pregnancy,  and also on Mental health issues focusing on its preventive measures. At the end, a short  quiz session was conducted to evaluate the knowledge of the students on the above topic. Around 200 students from grade VIII to X with  school teachers, Prof. Ranjita Devi, Vice Principal SMCON and  Mr G.S Regmi, IEC officer Rangpo PHC  has attended the programme. Under the supervision of Ms Aditi Sharma and Ms Shradha Pradhan, Tutors, SMCON, the programme was a great success. Sri Prakash Rai,  i/c HM of school appreciated the programme and  encouraged the nursing students to keep up the noble effort. This informative programme was culminated with vote of thanks by the students of SMCON.
