Event Report — Jamming Session & Poster Falling Ceremony: The Musical Prelude to Summit Sikkim 9.0 The Jamming Session and Poster Falling Ceremony marked the vibrant beginning of Summit Sikkim 9.0, setting the perfect tone for three days of diplomacy, debate, and celebration. Organized by Team SMITMUN on 9th October 2025 at the Dispensary Area, SMIT Campus, the event brought together delegates, organizing members, and music enthusiasts for an evening filled with rhythm, creativity, and unity. What began as a pre-conference gathering soon turned into a heartfelt celebration of art, expression, and community — a reminder that behind every formal committee lies the shared passion that binds the SMITMUN family together. The evening kicked off with a soulful Jamming Session, featuring impromptu performances by students and organizing members that filled the air with energy and enthusiasm. From acoustic melodies to powerful group acts, the performances reflected the vibrant talent within the SMIT community. The event reached new heights with a special collaboration and live performance by Chromatix, whose electrifying presence and music brought the entire crowd together in celebration. Delegates from all committees joined in, breaking barriers and bonding through rhythm and laughter — embodying the true spirit of camaraderie and connection that SMITMUN stands for. The most awaited moment of the evening was the Poster Falling Ceremony, which was gracefully officiated by Professor (Dr.) Pankaj Chettri, Associate Director (Student Affairs). As the poster descended, unveiling the official Summit Sikkim 9.0 banner, the crowd erupted in cheers and applause, marking the symbolic commencement of the grand conference. The event was met with overwhelming enthusiasm and was one of the most loved and attended pre-MUN events by the students, capturing the spirit of unity and celebration across campus. The Jamming Session and Poster Falling Ceremony, with its blend of art, music, and emotion, beautifully reflected the heartbeat of SMITMUN — collaboration, creativity, and community. It stood as the perfect prelude to the intense debates and discussions that followed, reminding everyone that diplomacy begins with understanding, and understanding begins with connection. |
